Anàlisis del risc nutricional dels malalts ingressats al servei de medicina intensiva segons NUTRIC Score

Abstract

Introducció: La puntuació per al risc nutricional en el malalt crític (Nutric Score) és la primera eina d'avaluació de riscos nutricionals desenvolupat i validat específicament per a pacients de l'UCI. Objectiu: Valorar els pacients ingressats a l‘UCI mitjançant el Nutric Score com a eina de cribratge del risc nutricional.

Mètodes: Estudi observacional prospectiu que va incloure un total de 189 pacients (n=189) ingressats a l’UCI. Es van excloure els menors de 16 anys i aquells que no tenien les dades completes. Per al anàlisis de les dades es va utilitzar el paquet estadístic SPSS Statistics 20.0 i es van considerar valors de p<0,05 com a resultats estadísticament significatius.

Resultats: S’ha identificat un grup de baix risc nutricional (puntuació del 0-4) amb 119 pacients (63%) i un grup d’alt risc nutricional (puntuació del 5-9) amb 70 pacients (37%) amb diferencies estadísticament significatives entre els dos grups i 7 variables analítiques s’han relacionat amb el risc de desnutrició i el Nutric Score durant l’estada a l’UCI.

Conclusions: La eina de cribatge nutricional Nutric Score pot ajudar en la identificació dels pacients críticament malalts amb un major risc de desnutrició i també indica quins són aquells pacients amb més probabilitats de beneficiar-se de la teràpia de nutrició artificial.

Introduction: The Nutric Score is the first nutritional risk assessment tool developed and validated specifically for ICU patients. Objective: To evaluate the admitted patients in the ICU applying the Nutric Score as a screening tool for nutritional risk. Methods: A prospective observational study that included a total of 189 admitted patients (n = 189) in the ICU. Children under 16 were excluded as well as those who did not have the complete data. Statistical package SPSS Statistics 20.0 was used for data analysis and values of p <0.05 were considered as statistically significant results. Results: A low nutritional risk group (0-4 score) was identified with 119 patients (63%) and a high nutritional risk group (score of 5-9) with 70 patients (37%) with statistically significant differences between the two groups and 7 analytical variables have been related to the risk of malnutrition and the Nutric Score during the ICU stay. Conclusions: The nutritional screening tool Nutric Score can help to identify critically ill patients with a major risk of malnutrition and it also indicates which patients are the most likely to benefit from artificial nutrition therapy.
