Treball i ús dels recursos al Segrià i a les terres de Lleida, segles XVIII-XXI. Canvi històric i possibilitats futures

Abstract

L’objectiu d’aquest estudi és analitzar les etapes de l’economia de les terres de Lleida des del segle xviii. En la primera fase (1750 1950) destaquen els esforços per recuperar els nutrients que les exportacions de productes agraris envien fora de les terres de Lleida, així com per disposar d’una força de tir molt més gran i eficient que permeti incorporar noves tecnologies en el marc d’una economia essencialment ecològica. La segona fase (1950-2024) es caracteritza per un ús intensiu de les energies fòssils en la producció i el transport amb el seu impacte negatiu en el medi ambient, etapa en la que progressivament el sector serveis és clarament majoritari en el Segrià. En la darrera etapa, la més actual, és necessari afrontar els diversos problemes que cal resoldre si volem arribar a una economia sostenible i respectuosa amb el medi ambient. En síntesi: què necessitem produir per viure dignament i com hem d’administrar els recursos per tal que estiguin distribuïts amb un nivell alt d’equitat.

The aim of this study is to analyse the stages of the economy of the terres de Lleida since the 18th century. In the first phase (1750-1950) the efforts to recover the nutrients that the exports of agricultural products send outside the terres de Lleida stand out, as well as to have a much larger and more efficient animal draft force that allows the incorporation of new technologies within the framework of an essentially ecological economy. The second phase (1950-2024) is characterized by an intensive use of fossil fuels in production and transport with its negative impact on the environment, a stage in which the service sector is progressively clearly the majority in the Segrià. In the last stage, the most current, it is necessary to face the various problems that need to be solved if we want to reach a sustainable and environmentally friendly economy. In short: what do we need to produce to live with dignity and how should we manage resources so that they are distributed with a high level of equity.
