Forma de vida y lenguaje en Wittgenstein

Abstract

This paper analyzes the significance and philosophical use that Wittgenstein gave in his mature thought to the concept of form of life. Thus, although it is pointed out that Wittgenstein only made use of this concept in the context of the justification of linguistic praxis as an epistemological limit, it is emphasized however that in that use it is already possible to glimpse a certain anthropological conception about human beings as animals of expressive, intentional, symbolic and linguistic behavior generator of rules and lover of regularities. The article ends with an analysis of the problem of the form of life of animals and its relationship with the human form of life. In particular it highlights the linguistic and cultural character of the human form of life, and shows the limits in the attribution to the non human animals

En este escrito se analiza la significación y el uso filosófico que Wittgenstein dio en su pensamiento maduro al concepto de forma de vida. Así, aunque se señala que Wittgenstein sólo hizo uso de dicho concepto en el contexto de la justificación de la praxis lingüística como límite epistemológico, se enfatiza no obstante que en ese uso ya es posible vislumbrar una cierta concepción antropológica sobre los seres humanos como animales de conducta expresiva, intencional, simbólica, lingüística generadora de reglas y amante de regularidades. El artículo acaba con un análisis del problema de la forma de vida de los animales y su relación con la forma de vida humana: en concreto se destaca el carácter lingüístico y cultural de la forma de vida humana, y se muestran los límites en la atribución a los animales no-humanos de los predicados mentales humanos
