Análisis Bibliométrico de la investigación turística sobre la ciudad de Girona = Bibliometric Analysis of Tourism Research on the City of Girona

Abstract

This study is characterized as the state of knowledge about academic and scientific production on the thematic tourism and Girona, through a bibliometric analysis. This information provides a broad picture of academic production on this subject. As for the methodology, this study is characterized by a qualitative research and is an exploratory and descriptive study. With the data that have been extracted from databases, we analyze the evolution of the number of published works, authors, journals and languages of publication, topics of studies, keywords and others. The results show that in spite of all the tourist potential presented by the city of Girona and the educational centers of tourism in the city itself, the academic knowledge generated has not been published in academic journals or has as object of study the city

Este estudio se caracteriza como el estado del conocimiento sobre la producción académica y científica sobre el temático turismo y Girona, mediante un análisis bibliométrico. Esas informaciones ofrecen un amplio y objetivo retrato de la producción académica sobre este tema. En cuanto a la metodología, este estudio se caracteriza por una investigación del enfoque cualitativo y se trata de un estudio exploratorio y descriptivo. Con los datos que han sido extraídos a partir de bases de datos, se analiza la evolución del número de trabajos publicados, los autores, las revistas y lenguas de publicación, los temas de estudios, palabras clave y otros. Los resultados muestran que a pesar de todo el potencial turístico que presenta la ciudad de Girona y de los centros educativos de turismo en la propia ciudad, el conocimiento académico generado no se ha publicado en revistas académicas o no tiene como objeto de estudio la ciudad
