Approaches to comprehensive teaching of sports have had a big impact during the last decades. The most known approach is the Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) of Bunker and Thorpe (1982), although in different contexts other approaches have been developed. This paper presents a brief analysis of the main features of the TGfU, as well as the Pedagogical Models of Tactical-Decision (PMT-D) (Gréhaigne, Wallian and Godbout, 2005) developed in France, and the Integrated Technique-Tactical Model (IT-TM) (López-Ros and Castejón, 1998a, 1998b) originated in Spain. We focus the attention on the common aspects of these three approaches, revising in depth the methodological principles of Exaggeration and Simplification, and the use of semiotic devices. Finally, we highlight some existing differences between the three approaches in relation to methodological aspects with the aim of promoting their educational application

Los modelos de enseñanza comprensiva del deporte han tenido un fuerte impacto en los últimos años. El más conocido es el Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) de Bunker y Thorpe (1982), aunque en otros contextos también ha habido otras aportaciones. El presente trabajo muestra un breve análisis de las características más importantes del Teaching Games for Understanding conjuntamente con la Pedagogía de los Modelos de Decisión Táctica (Gréhaigne, Wallian y Godbout, 2005) desarrollada en Francia, y el Modelo Integrado Técnico-Táctico (López-Ros y Castejón, 1998a, 1998b) creado en España. Centramos la atención en aquellos aspectos comunes más relevantes de los tres modelos, revisando con mayor profundidad los principios metodológicos de la Exageración y la Simplificación, y el uso de recursos semióticos. Finalmente, destacamos algunas diferencias existentes entre los tres modelos relativas a aspectos metodológicos con el objetivo de facilitar su consecuente aplicación didáctica
