This article offers a panorama of mathematics training for future teachers at pre-school level in Spain. With this goal in mind, this article is structured infour sections: where we come from, where we are, where we’re going and where we want to go. It offers, in short, a brief analysis that shows the efforts made to ensure there is sufficient academic and scientific rigour in teachers’ studies at pre-school in general and students’ mathematics education in particular. Together with a description of the progress made in recent years, it also raises some questions for all those involved in training future teachers for this educational stage

En este trabajo se ofrece un panorama de la formación matemática de los futuros maestros de la etapa de educación Infantil en nuestro país. Con este objetivo, el artículo se estructura en cuatro apartados: de dónde venimos, dónde estamos, hacia dónde vamos y hacia dónde queremos ir. Se trata, en definitiva, de un breve análisis que muestra los esfuerzos realizados para ir dotando de rigor académico y científico a los estudios de maestro de educación infantil en general y a la educación matemática que reciben los estudiantes en particular. Junto con la descripción de los avances que se han ido realizando en los últimos años, se plantean algunos interrogantes que invitan a la reflexión de todos aquellos que nos dedicamos a formar a futuros maestros en esta etapa educativa
