This paper analyses the performance of the DQCA AD HOC MAC protocol for scenarios where the
communication nodes have different mobility conditions, corresponding to different applications such as
sensor networks, inter-vehicular and pedestrian applications. It has been demonstrated that under low
mobility conditions, the protocol performance is near-optimum. This performance is slightly reduced due
to the cluster setup time when the relative movement speed of the nodes is increased. The variability of
this performance behaviour is described in detail. Anyway, the protocol efficiency is remarkably high in
all situations and, as a consequence, the protocol could be feasible for a wide range of applications. |
