dc.description.abstract | According to the latest surveys made by the National Institute of Statistics (INE, 2008) the total number of disabled people in Spain is 3.8 million, representing 8.5% of the total population. Currently, one of the biggest limitations of people with motor disabilities is not being able to communicate using digital platforms available nowadays such as; computers, tablets or mobile phones. This project was born within the Instrumentation, Sensors and Interfaces (ISI) investigation group of ETTAC, it aims to develop an interface for physically disabled people to control new technologies in an easier way. This interface will be adaptable to a greater number of disabled people to control the device with different parts of their body. Because it was designed for people with disabilities, this interface should be easy to use and set up, with minimal calibration needed by the user. |
