En la societat d’avui dia, les empreses depenen en gran part dels seus recursos informàtics. La seva capacitat de supervivència i innovació en el mercat actual, on la competitivitat és cada dia més forta, passa per una infraestructura informàtica que els permeti, no només desplegar i implantar ordinadors i servidors de manera ràpida i eficient sinó que també les protegeixi contra parades del sistema informàtic, problemes amb servidors, caigudes o desastres físics de hardware.
Per evitar aquests problemes informàtics susceptibles de poder parar el funcionament d’una empresa es va començar a treballar en el camp de la virtualització informàtica amb l’objectiu de poder trobar solucions a aquests problemes a la vegada que s’aprofitaven els recursos de hardware existents d’una manera més òptim a i eficient, reduint així també el cost de la infraestructura informàtica.
L’objectiu principal d’aquest treball és veure en primer pla la conversió d’una empresa real amb una infraestructura informàtica del tipus un servidor físic -una funció cap a una infraestructura virtual del tipus un servidor físic -varis servidors virtual -vàries funcions. Analitzarem l’estat actual de l’empresa, servidors i funcions, adquirirem el hardware necessari i farem la conversió de tots els seus servidors cap a una nova infraestructura virtual.
Faig especial atenció a les explicacions de perquè utilitzo una opció i no un altre i també procuro sempre donar vàries opcions. Igualment remarco en quadres verds observacions a tenir en compte complementàries al que estic explicant en aquell moment, i en quadres vermells temes en els que s’ha de posar especial atenció en el moment en que es fan.
Finalment, un cop feta la conversió, veurem els molts avantatges que ens ha reportat aquesta tecnologia a nivell de fiabilitat, estabilitat, capacitat de tolerància a errades, capacitat de ràpid desplegament de noves màquines, capacitat de recuperació del sistema i aprofitament de recursos físics |

In today’s society, companies depend largely on their information technology (IT) resources. Their survival and innovation capabilities in today’s market where competition is increasingly
fierce, not only go through having a computer infrastructure that enables them to deploy and implement computers efficiently and servers quickly, but also go through having a high protection against computing system stops, servers’ problems, hardware systems falls or hardware physical troubles.
To avoid this kind of IT problems that might stop normally operation of a company, they started working in the field of computer virtualization with the goal of being able to find solutions to problems referred to above, but also trying at the same time to making use, in a more optimum and efficient way, of the existing hardware resources. It would be reduced the cost of computing infrastructure also.
The main target of this work is to see in the foreground a real company conversion, from using a computing infrastructure of type: one physical server – one function to a computing infrastructure of type: physical server – several virtual servers with different functions each. First of all, the chosen company will be analyzed in its current state describing servers and functions, then the necessary hardware, servers and its functions will be selected, and finally the conversion to a completely new virtual infrastructure will be done.
This project will place especial emphasis on explanations, on why a determined and not another options is chosen, and also seeks giving several options to a same work, always if it is possible. Green boxes will be found on pages, they are filled with complementary observations of what it is explained on the page where they are. Red boxes will also be found, they contain important information to be read about a critical point explained on the page where they are.
Once the conversion has been performed, it will be time to see the many advantages this kind of technology have reported on levels of: upper reliability, superior stability, high capacity of tolerance to errors, utmost ability to quick deployment of new machines, fast system recovery and optimum utilization of physical resources. |
