<description>Women in Food Tourism: The Narrative of Producers
Magri Harsich, Gabriela; Vidal Casellas, Dolors; Fernandes, Carlos; Fusté-Forné, Francesc
Food tourism impacts the local development of communities from economic, cultural, and environmental perspectives. Also, it serves as a means for preserving and promoting traditions and fostering a sense of belonging within these communities. Despite the extensive body of research on food tourism, there is a limited focus on the perspective of women producers. This article aims to explore the development of food tourism from the perspective of rural women. Through interviews with 39 rural women involved in food production in the Campos, Ríos, and Lagunas region of the Buenos Aires province, Argentina, results highlight the area's food tourism potential driven by women's active involvement. In addition, the article highlights the necessity to expand public policies to address the situation of rural women, their vital role in agriculture, and their connection to local development and communities through food tourism; 2

Camprubí Subirana, Raquel; Planas Arbat, Cèlia
Storytelling as strategy to transmit values and identity of a brand has acquired relevance during the last years. However, this concept is already relatively underdeveloped in academic literature on tourism destinations. This paper aims to analyze storytelling potentialities and use in a tourism destination trough traditional stories. Legends of the city of Girona (Spain) have been chosen as a case study. Results demonstrated that legends of the city have the potential to develop a storytelling strategy, but this potential is not used properly; El storytelling como estrategia para transmitir los valores e identidad de una marca ha adquirido importancia en los últimos años, pero aún hay poca literatura que desarrolle este concepto entorno a los destinos turísticos.

<title>Community-Based Tourism through Food: A Proposal of Sustainable Tourism Indicators for Isolated and Rural Destinations in Mexico</title>
<link>https://hdl.handle.net/10256/19628</link>
<description>Community-Based Tourism through Food: A Proposal of Sustainable Tourism Indicators for Isolated and Rural Destinations in Mexico
Sosa Tinoco, Mariana Monserrat; Aulet Serrallonga, Sílvia; Mundet i Cerdan, Lluís
Purpose: this article presents a conceptual framework for examining community tourism as a sustainable livelihood through food tourism, considering the significant increase in community-based tourism in Mexico and the impact this activity has on rural and vulnerable destinations. The main aim of this research is to generate a proposal for a set of sustainable tourism indicators for rural and isolated communities through food strategies geared towards tourism development. Methodology: this information can then be used to generate a first list of indicators for creating and evaluating community tourism proposals in a region. Said theoretical list includes four dimensions (socio-cultural, environmental, tourist, and economic), which comprise 27 indicators in total. Findings: the results, validated by different participants related to the tourism sector, show that a lack of information for quantifying indicators is one of the main limitations when evaluating a vulnerable destination and that participation by the private sector and public administrations will be essential in generating these data. Approach: this research will therefore contribute to the development of new action strategies that allow not only the strengthening of the current localized agri-food systems, but also the revaluation of forgotten food systems
