Behavioral contagion is spread across animal species and is thought to promote social cohesion and group synchronization. While yawn contagion has been extensively studied, scratch contagion remains comparatively under-researched, particularly in wild populations. We investigated whether yawn and scratch contagion occurred in a wild group of Ecuadorian white-fronted capuchins (Cebus aequatorialis, N = 16) at La Hesperia Cloud Forest Reserve in Ecuador. We assessed whether scratching or yawning were more likely to occur after observing a conspecific (i.e., the trigger) scratching or yawning (i.e., triggering event) compared to a control condition. We further examined whether this effect was modulated by the (a) individual characteristics of the trigger and the partner (sex, age category, and social centrality), and (c) dyadic-level variables (sex and age similarity, social bond strength). Our results showed that the probability of scratching was significantly higher in individuals that observed the triggering event, as compared to individuals that did not observe it. However, scratch contagion was not modulated by any of the individual or dyadic predictors included in our models. No yawning events were recorded during the study period. Our findings contribute to understanding scratch contagion in wild primates and underscore the need for further exploration of social factors influencing behavioral contagion; Research funding: Fundació UdG: Innovació i Formació. The aim of this article is to contextualize the perspective of the Funds of Knowledge (FK), with particular attention to what we consider three substantial contributions made by Luis Moll. Namely: (1) the Vygotskian conceptualization of study groups involving researchers and teachers as a mediating social structure; (2) the importance of generating zones of proximal development understood as social processes of trust, collaboration and exchange; and (3) the understanding of FK as psychological tools, socially and culturally situated and distributed, which, when recognized and legitimized in educational contexts, serve to amplify, organize, sustain and regulate (mediate) learning processes. All of this is framed within the commitment and connection that Luis Moll consistently demonstrated between his thought, scholarship and life in relation to 'convivencia' (living together, coexistence). To this end, we trace the origin, development and current stage of internationalization of the FK approach, and finally describe and illustrate, through examples drawn from the contributions in this Special Issue, what we regard as five core principles, or guiding ideas, that have become consolidated over the course of this theoretical and practical approach; This work was supported by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and European Union NextGEnerationEU/PRTR, CHANSE programme [PCI2022-135094-2]; the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (MCIN), the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI), and The European Regional Development Fund (European Union) [grant number PID2021-127143NB-I00]. Introduction: Psychological flexibility is a core concept in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, with several self-report instruments developed to measure it. One multidimensional measure is the Comprehensive Assessment of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Processes (CompACT). This study is the first to test a bifactor structure of the CompACT providing new insights into its dimensional structure and how scores should be computed. Additionally, the study validates the Finnish version of the instrument. Methods: Data from five distinct non-clinical Finnish (n = 281) and British samples (n = 690) were obtained. The internal structure of the CompACT was examined through confirmatory factor analysis. For the Finnish samples, reliability, construct validity, and sensitivity to change were also performed. Results: The bifactor structure was the best-fitting model across Finnish and British samples, supporting both a general psychological flexibility factor and three specific subcomponents: openness to experience, behavioral awareness, and valued action. The Finnish version of the CompACT demonstrated good internal consistency, strong construct validity, and significant correlations with mindfulness, well-being, stress, and depression measures. Additionally, the measure was sensitive to change in psychological flexibility following ACT-based interventions, with moderate-to-large effect sizes. Discussion: This study represents a significant advancement in the psychometric evaluation of the CompACT, providing the first empirical evidence that a bifactor model offers the optimal structural representation of the measure. The bifactor structure supports, for the first time, the computation of both an overarching psychological flexibility score and subscale scores in the CompACT, reinforcing the theoretical conceptualization of psychological flexibility. These findings contribute to the refinement of psychological flexibility measurement and offer valuable insights for both research and clinical applications. Future studies should further investigate the bifactor model's added value over other established measures of psychological flexibility; Jaime Navarrete has a postdoctoral contract funded by CIBERESP (CB22/02/00052; PI: Juan V.
