      <subfield code="a">[cat] Aquest article pretén abordar el debat de la possibilitat (o la impossibilitat) d'una literatura mundial mitjançant l'anàlisi de dues peces clau en el desenvolupament de la dramatúrgia britànica contemporània: Blasted, de Sarah Kane, i Attempts on her life, de Martin Crimp. L'article se centrarà, especialment, en els modes d'aparició de l'alteritat que presenten les obres en qüestió, en la seva relació amb Occident com a identitat i com a discurs, i en les problemàtiques que susciten entorn de la noció de representació en el marc d'una globalització esperonada per la consolidació del capitalisme multinacional. Es mostrarà que ambdues peces ofereixen la possibilitat de reflexionar respecte d'una literatura mundial i mundana des d'Occident, que assumeix la pròpia posició per comprometre's amb un projecte crític que tingui en compte els reptes i les tensions inherents a l'espai global contemporani. Així, es volen indicar altres modes de contribució específics als debats de la Literatura Comparada com a disciplina.</subfield>

      <subfield code="a">[eng] This article pretends to approach the debate about the possibility (or the impossibility) of a world literature by examining two key plays of British contemporary dramaturgy: Blasted, by Sarah Kane, and Attempts on her life, by Martin Crimp. The article will be especially focused on the emergence of otherness in the plays, on their relationship with Occident as an identity and discourse, as well as on the problematics that arise from the notion of representation in a globalized world crafted by multinational capitalism. It will be shown that both plays permit to think about a mundane world literature from Occident, a literature that assumes its own position to engage a critical project that considers the challenges and the tensions posited by our contemporary global space. Thus, we would like to indicate other instances of specific contribution to the debates that surround Comparative Literature as a discipline.</subfield>
