<dc:description>This thesis examines how trade barriers affect semiconductor demand and performance across the end-to-end supply chain. A digital twin of the semiconductor supply chain was developed using system dynamics simulation in AnyLogic, structured through an echelon-based model to ensure scalability and consistency. The model was calibrated with real data and expert insights from Infineon Technologies. Trade barriers were incorporated as disruptive one-shot events, allowing the assessment of their impact on supply chain performance. By combining system dynamics with echelon-based modeling, the thesis provides a useful insight into supply chain management during trade barrier induced disruptions. The results confirm that trade barriers act as triggers of the bullwhip effect, amplifying demand volatility throughout the upstream echelons, regardless of end-customer demand stability. In- ventory depletion and capacity constraints emerge as critical accelerators of this volatility. Sen- sitivity analysis highlights the desired inventory coverage as the most influential parameter in balancing resilience and cost efficiency. Notably, findings show that even without changes in final demand, disruptions such as order reallocations or capacity cuts can induce significant instability, leading to perceived demand surges of up to 45%. The study concludes that maintaining enough available capacity and adequate inventory buffers are essential measures to mitigate the risks posed by trade barriers.</dc:description>
