<dc:description>This Bachelor's Thesis presents the design and construction of an innovative device aimed at facilitating the teaching of Continuum Mechanics (CM) concepts, particularly the tensors associated with Finite Transformations, such as the deformation tensor, the rigid body rotation tensor, and the Cauchy-Green tensor. The main objective was to develop a device that allows users to visually and intuitively explore these tensors, enhancing student understanding through a practical and visual approach. Two deformation mechanisms applied to a Lycra fabric were proposed and validated: 1. A system inspired by the Picture Frame Test, which generates a state of pure shear. 2. A method based on direct stretching of the fabric at its edges. A fully functional prototype capable of performing both tests was constructed. The resulting deformations were analyzed using the Ncorr image correlation software. Results show that, for the stretching test, the prototype can approximate theoretical values, making it suitable for conceptual demonstrations (though not for precise numerical analysis). In the case of the Picture Frame Test, the deformation matched the theoretical tensor almost perfectly. The conclusions of the project confirm that the final design is ergonomic and versatile, enabling the representation of nearly any deformation tensor by combining both methods. Furthermore, the device has been made available to the Department of Strength of Materials and Structural Engineering (RMEE) for potential integration into teaching activities. This project builds upon the work initiated by student Armand Gatius Ugalde and establishes a foundation for future studies that may explore specific ways to implement the device in a university teaching environment.</dc:description>
