Una opció per mitigar l’impacte d’aquest sector és fer-lo més eficient reduint la resistència aerodinàmica dels camions. El projecte inicia amb una introducció on es presenten els efectes relacionats amb les emissions que comporta el transport per carretera, així com el context històric centrat en l’evolució aerodinàmica. Llavors s’enumeren les tres tipus de tècniques que es poden dur a terme per analitzar el comportament aerodinàmic dels camions: CFD, túnel de vent i prova en carretera. Seguidament s’exposen els principals conceptes aerodinàmics més rellevants que afecten al camió i als seus accessoris, facilitant l’enteniment del següent apartat. Road transport is currently the primary means of freight transport and a sector with a significant contribution to CO2 emissions. One option to mitigate the impact of this sector is to make it more efficient by reducing the aerodynamic resistance of trucks. The project begins with an introduction that presents the emissions-related effects of road transport, as well as the historical context focused on aerodynamic evolution. Then, it lists the three types of techniques that can be used to analyse the aerodynamic behaviour of trucks: Computational Fluid Dynamics, wind tunnel testing and on-road testing.
