Today, the Mediterranean Sea is the scene where due to armed conflict, violence or poverty, thousands of people travel to Europe irregularly. In its waters, the majority of boats that go into this voyage get shipwrecked. This is due to the precariousness of the boats themselves, often semi-rigid, without the fuel needed to make the journey or the means to navigate or establish 1:00 communication. The main peculiarity of this type of rescue is the number of people who travel in a boat, all exceed their capacity. Consequently, the sinking of one of these ships sometimes results in hundreds of people in the water, often without life jackets. The aim of this project is to assess the needs of this type of rescue and design a solution to facilitate the rescue of these people. The proposal is conceived as an immediate response device, to prevent the dispersion of people due to the waves. It is a self-inflating device that crowds people around it waiting for rescue. It is designed to be incorporated into the material of vessels carrying out SAR activities. In this way, in the event of an emergency, the deployment of this device will save time for more rescue units and equipment to move to the wreck.</mods:abstract>
