      <subfield code="a">Seguindo os rastros dos processos de gentrificação - fenômeno global que atualmente se reveste dos mais distintos formatos em várias partes do mundo - este trabalho apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa ainda exploratória que vem sendo realizada desde 2019, no Mercado Novo, em Belo Horizonte, Brasil. O principal objetivo é o de compreender o modo como o processo em curso no Mercado Novo revela os efeitos da «supermodernidade» nos espaços, em suas dimensões física e social. Ancorados no método etnográfico, os dados coletados revelam como histórias e memórias são criadas a partir de uma “autenticidade calculada”, transformando o espaço em uma mercadoria cultural. Em síntese, este trabalho fomenta a discussão acerca das consequências dos processos de gentrificação na produção do espaço, sejam «não-lugares», conforme conceituação de Marc Augé, sejam «nódulos de conectividade internacional», segundo expressão de Doreen Massey, na medida em que configuram espaços de base relacional internacionalizada e pouco diversificada.</subfield>

      <subfield code="a">Following the traces of gentrification processes - a global phenomenon that currently takes on the most distinct formats in different parts of the world - this article presents the results of a still exploratory research that has been carried out since 2019, at Mercado Novo, in Belo Horizonte. The main objective is to understand how the process underway at Mercado Novo reveals the effects of «surmodernité» in physical and social dimensions. Anchored in the ethnographic method, the data reveal how stories and memories are created from a “calculated authenticity”, transforming space into a cultural commodity. In summary, this work reinforces the discussion about the consequences of gentrification processes to the production of non-places, according to Marc Augé's assumptions, or nodes of international connectivity, expression of Doreen Massey, which means an internationalized spaces, homogeneous and massified.</subfield>
