The fundamental question raised in this paper is whether the haptic and usability reading of these devices can be improved by including three-dimensional tactile symbols. The main working hypothesis that arises is whether it is possible to extend and diversify the range of symbols beyond those currently existing by including three-dimensional tactile symbols. Tactile maps and symbols are mainly characterized by their strong relationship with two-dimensional graphics.
