For more or less 4 months the project group has been working on the project ‘Een bord vol rechten’. This project was set up to teach children in Belgium about children’s rights by using digital technologies such as smart boards and tablets to stimulate interaction in class. The ultimate end user will be pupils in Belgium from the 5th and 6th grade of elementary school that use the application for about 1 to 2 times a month, during a time span of 1 to 2 hours. The aim of the project is to design and develop a platform which consists of a very visual interface and different games that teach children about human rights. At the same time the children need to reach the end goals of the school’s curriculum. This all needs to be backed by an entertaining storyline. The storyline will feature one main character that will work as a common thread throughout the application. The games themselves will be a variation of activities, done with a tablet but also without one, in (small) groups but also alone or with the whole class. There were also courses to help working on the project. Each course had to do with the project and needed to be applied in it. During the last 4 months the team organised meetings with the supervisors and client to be sure they were on the right track. This report presents the different steps the team is taking to achieve the desired results in terms of technical approach but also in terms of managing and how the different courses are applied to the project.
