L'urna de Sant Bernat Calbó (1700-1728) Erra Zubiri, Alba Urnes Calbó, Bernat, sant, 1180-1243 La urna de Sant Bernal Calbó fue realizada entre 1700 y 1728 por Joan Matons, argente­ro barcelonés, a petición del Capítulo de la catedral de Vic, cuando casi se había conse­guido la canonización del obispo. Por su ca­lidad técnica se la considera una de las obras emblemáticas de la argentería catalana del siglo xv111, comparable a las obras de Fran­cesc y Josep Tramulles o Pere Lleopar. Es­tas obras significan la ruptura con el goticis­mo, imperante aún en argentería religiosa hasta el siglo xvn, y muestran la asimilación de la nueva estética barroca. The urn of Saint Bernar Calbó was made be­tween 1700 and 1728 by loan Matons, a Bar­celona silversmilh, a commission from the Chapter of Vic cathedral, when the canon­ization of the bishop had almost been achieved. Due to its technical quality, it is considered as one on the most outstanding examples of Catalan 18th-century silver­work, a match for the works by Francesc and Josep Tramulles or Pere Lleopart.
