The regression lines of facial length versus the cranial length appeared homogeneous among types, but slopes showed statistically different values and, in all cases, allometric coefficients exceeding 1. This would be interpreted as a clear expression of hypomorphoses for toy rabbits (slope was lower than that for wilds), but hypermorphosis for meat animals (slope was higher than that for wilds). Wild rabbit, on the other hand, presented a development with a sudden stop, due to their lower body weight and hence shorter cephalic growth.La heterocronía consiste en los cambios evolutivos a lo largo del desarrollo, e incluyen los fenómenos de neotenia, recapitulación, pedogénesis, retardo progénesis, etc. A fin de detectar procesos heterocrónicas y diferenciarlos, se procedió a estudiar 291 cadáveres frescos de conejos domésticos de diferente aptitud (73 del tipo “belier”, 112 del tipo “toy” y 71 de tipo carnicero), comparándolos con 35 de conejo silvestre ((Oryctolagus cuniculus). De cada animal se obtuvieron las longitudes facial y cefálica con pie de rey. Por tipos, las rectas de regresión de la longitud facial versus la longitud craneal aparecieron homogéneas entre ellas, pero con inclinaciones estadísticamente muy diferentes y en todos los casos con pendientes alométricas excediendo de 1. Se interpretaría ello, pues, como una expresión clara de hipomorfosis en el caso de los “toy” (pendiente inferior al del silvestre), y de hipermorfosis para los carniceros (pendiente superior al del silvestre).
