On 28 May 2023, Ama Ata Aidoo passed away. For those of us who have grown academically and, I may add, personally through her work, this date will remain a sad remembrance and yet, the various people that configure the team of Africanías, would like to transform the desolation of this unfortunate event into a meaningful mourning performance and so, we have decided to devote a special issue entirely to her.
