Throughout the years 2021-2022, the virtual restoration of the main apse of the Romanesque cathedral of Girona, lost due to the construction of the preserved Gothic building, has been carried out. The restoration aims at the scientific reflection on the arts of the altar and the spatial and decorative configuration of the liturgical settings in the context of Catalan Romanesque art (11th-13th centuries), through the study of this specific space, the different restorative possibilities based on available data, and critical debate in its environment
A lo largo de los años 2021-2022 se ha llevado a cabo la restitución virtual del ábside mayor de la catedral románica de Girona, desaparecida a causa de la construcción del edificio gótico conservado. La restitución tiene como objetivo la reflexión científica sobre las artes del altar y la configuración espacial y decorativa de los escenarios litúrgicos en el contexto del arte románico catalán (siglos XI-XIII), a través del estudio de este espacio concreto, de las diferentes posibilidades restitutivas a partir de los datos disponibles y del debate crítico a su entorno
Este estudio se enmarca en el proyecto de investigación del equipo TEMPLA, Sedes Memoriae 2 Memorias de cultos y las artes del altar en las catedrales medievales del norte peninsular (Oviedo, Burgos, Roda de Isábena, Zaragoza, Mallorca, Vic, Barcelona, Tarragona, Girona) (ref. MICIIN PID2019-105829GB-100, del Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades AEI / FEDER Una manera de hacer Europa; y del gru-po de investigación reconocido SGR Escenaris i edificis religiosos medievals a la Corona d'Aragó ERM (CdA) de la Generalitat de Catalunya (2021 SGR 00212).
