Victoria author Suñer Gratacós, Avel·lina author 2017-12-13 In this paper, we analyse the characteristics of the adverbial subordinated sentences with a locative meaning which are introduced by Spanish particles según and conforme (El baño está {según/ conforme} bajas la escalera, “The bathroom is just as you get down the stairs”). We argue that the spatial interpretation of these sentences is compositionally built by adding the relational meaning of the particle to two features of its sentential complement: genericity (articulated through an unspecific subject and an imperfective verbal tense) and the presence of a verb of inherently directed motion (which encodes path value characteristic of these constructions) En este trabajo se analizan las propiedades de las subordinadas con interpretación locativa introducidas por las partículas según y conforme (El baño está {según/conforme} bajas la escalera).
