L’ús de l’Internet ha revolucionat el funcionament de la indústria turística. Ha transformat diferents
àrees des de la planificació del viatge, la comercialització i l’estructura de la indústria, aportant una
sèrie d’avantatges tant per l’empresari com pel turista, però alhora també ha generat una sèrie
d’inconvenients com les incerteses en la privacitat i seguretat de les dades, la manca de fiabilitat de
la informació i la presència de nous intermediaris. Actualment ens trobem en una època on diferents
tecnologies, com la intel·ligència artificial, l’internet de les coses o la biometria, es posicionen com a
potencials transformadores de la societat. Una d’elles és la tecnologia blockchain, que gràcies a la seva
arquitectura i funcionament, disposa de les capacitats per a solucionar gran part dels inconvenients
abans esmentats. L’objectiu d’aquest estudi és determinar quin és la percepció sobre el potencial del
blockchain al sector turístic. A través de la realització de 19 entrevistes semi-estructurades a diferents
agents públics i privats de la Costa Brava i Pirineu de Girona, s’ha determinat quin és el potencial
d’aquesta tecnologia en el sector turístic, quins son les àrees d’aplicació més interessants i quin és el
camí que queda per recórrer per tal de començar a implementar aquest tipus de solucions al territoriThe use of Internet has revolutionized the way the tourism industry works. It has transformed
different areas from travel planning, marketing and industry structure, providing several advantages
for both the business and tourist, but at the same time it has generated several disadvantages such as
the uncertainties of data privacy and security, unreliability of information and the presence of new
intermediaries. Currently, we are in an era where different technologies, such as artificial intelligence,
Internet of Things and biometrics, are positioning themselves as potential transformers of our
society. One of them is blockchain technology, which, thanks to its architecture and functioning, has
the capabilities to solve most of the aforementioned problems. The main goal of the study is to
determine which is the perception of the potential of the blockchain in the tourism sector. Through
the realization of 19 semi-structured interviews with different public and private agents of the Costa
Brava and Pirineus of Girona, it has been determined what the potential of this technology is in the
tourism sector, what are the more interesting areas of application and what is the way to go in order
to start implementing this type of solutions in the territory
