Tot i que la situació ha anat millorant de forma progressiva, avui dia, segueixen essent relativament baixes les xifres de dones que decideixen encaminar el seu futur professional en carreres tècniques. Aquest fet ha suscitat l’interès personal a dur a terme un estudi per determinar el paper dels estereotips en les eleccions dels estudis universitaris, així com les motivacions a l’hora d’escollir un grau. A més, l’estudi posa especial èmfasis en determinat si existeix una desigualtat de gènere entre els estudis STEM i la resta. El projecte s’inicia amb una revisió teòrica on destaquen estudis d’experts en la matèria, la cerca de notícies relacionades amb el tema i anàlisis numèrics sobre l’evolució del sector. Com a metodologia emprada, s’ha escollit l’entrevista amb qüestionari semiestructurat a diferents estudiants de l’àmbit STEM i no STEM de la Universitat de Girona per a posterior, comptar amb l’opinió d’una experta en el sector per tal de recollir un altre punt de vista mitjançant la tècnica de la triangulació. A partir dels resultats, es podran assolir els objectius del treball obtenint informació actual i creant futures línies d’investigació per altres persones interessades en el tema The discrimination of women, together with the stereotypes and cultural tradition are the main factors affecting the development of the degrees in the STEM sector. Although the situation has been getting progressively better, the number of women that decide to focus their professional career on technical degrees is relatively low. This fact has raised my personal interest to study the role of stereotypes when choosing a university degree, as well as the motivations. Moreover, the study focuses specially in the evaluation of a supposed gender inequality between the STEM studies and the others. The project starts with a theoretical revision, highlighting studies of experts in the matter, the research of news related to the subject and numerical analysis about the evolution of the sector. The methodology has focused on semistructured questionnaire interviews to different students within the STEAM and non-STEAM sectors from Universitat de Girona to later count with the opinion of an expert in order to obtain another point of view using the triangulation method.
