This information provides a broad picture of academic production on this subject. As for the methodology, this study is characterized by a qualitative research and is an exploratory and descriptive study. With the data that have been extracted from databases, we analyze the evolution of the number of published works, authors, journals and languages of publication, topics of studies, keywords and others. The results show that in spite of all the tourist potential presented by the city of Girona and the educational centers of tourism in the city itself, the academic knowledge generated has not been published in academic journals or has as object of study the cityEste estudio se caracteriza como el estado del conocimiento sobre la producción académica y científica sobre el temático turismo y Girona, mediante un análisis bibliométrico. Esas informaciones ofrecen un amplio y objetivo retrato de la producción académica sobre este tema. En cuanto a la metodología, este estudio se caracteriza por una investigación del enfoque cualitativo y se trata de un estudio exploratorio y descriptivo. Con los datos que han sido extraídos a partir de bases de datos, se analiza la evolución del número de trabajos publicados, los autores, las revistas y lenguas de publicación, los temas de estudios, palabras clave y otros.
