               <mods:abstract>An expert panel linked to the research project News, Networks and Users in the Hybrid Media System. Transformation of the Media Industry and the News in the Pots-Industrial Era was held on the 24th of February, 2022, to deal with a sensitive and relevant question: how media are financed, especially in a post-crisis situation, moreover after the COVID-19 pandemics. Especially, two revenue sources were examined: public subsidies and public advertisement. The experts also focused on the importance of public incomes for private media. The influence of the public economic intervention on media, and on freedom of speech and democracy, was also examined.This paper is one of the results of the research project News, networks, and users in the&#xd;
hybrid media system. Transformation of media industries and the news in the post-&#xd;
industrial era (RTI2018-095775-B-C43) (Mineco/Feder), Spanish Ministry of Science,&#xd;
Innovation, and Competitiveness (2019-2021).</mods:abstract>
