En aquest article comparem tres textos de la traducció de Macbeth de Josep M. de Sagarra: el manuscrit (1942), l’edició d’Edicions Calíope (1946?) i l’edició de l’Editorial Alpha (1959). A part dels canvis que es produeixen quant a la normativa, la comparació ens permet observar alguns aspectes interessants: 1) les opcions que Sagarra va valorar en el manuscrit, però que, finalment, va descartar; 2) les modificacions d’alguns versos (quins va retocar i per què); i 3) les escenes o fragments en què Sagarra tenia més dubtes. Totes aquestes qüestions contribueixen a comprendre la manera de traduir Shakespeare que tenia Sagarra. A més, també dediquem un apartat a donar les dates de les altres vint-i-vuit traduccions shakespearianes de Sagarra, ja que, fins ara, només s’hi havien fet aproximacions a partir dels comentaris d’autors com Lluís Permanyer (1991) o Maurici Serrahima (2003).In this article we compare three versions of the translation of Macbeth by Josep M. Sagarra: the manuscript version (1942), the edition by Edicions Calíope (1946?) and the edition published by Editorial Alpha (1959). Apart from the normative changes introduced, the comparison enables us to focus on a number of interesting aspects of the work: 1) the options considered by Sagarra in the manuscript, but which he finally discarded: 2) the modifications in some of the verses (the ones he touched up and why); 3) the scenes or fragments about which Sagarra had most doubts. All these questions contribute to understanding Sagarra’s way of translating Shakespeare. Moreover, we also devote a section of the paper to providing the dates of Sagarra’s other twenty-eight translations of Shakespeare because, up till now, we have only had at our disposal approximations made through comments from authors like Lluís Permanyer (1991) or Maurici Serrahima (2003).Aquest article s’emmarca en el projecte 2014 SGR843
