A día de hoy, la utilización de la Ciencia de Datos está revolucionando todo tipo de sectores
gracias a las nuevas perspectivas que confiere la comprensión los datos y el gran beneficio
que significa para las tecnologías actuales.
En este estudio se intentan comprender, a partir de una cantidad de datos limitados, las
necesidades y deficiencias de los estudiantes en algo tan importante como es la movilidad
diaria para acceder a la universidad. Esta variable puede afectar en el rendimiento de los
estudiantes y a la decisión de optar a una universidad u otra. Por otra parte, se analiza el
origen social y económico que rodea a los estudiantes y su correlación con la naturaleza de los
centros de Educación Secundaria y Formación Profesional de los que provienen.
Este estudio resulta de gran relevancia para conocer el perfil social y económico y la
distribución geográfica de los diferentes colectivos de estudiantes. Al mismo tiempo, permite
comprender el esfuerzo que conlleva el desplazamiento diario para acceder al Campus de
Poblenou y conocer cómo afectarían las iniciativas municipales en marcha a las necesidades
de transporte de los estudiantes.
Nowadays, the use of Data Science is transforming all kind of sectors thanks to the new
perspectives conferred by the understanding of the data and the great benefit that it means for
the current technologies.
This study tries to understand from limited data the needs and deficiencies of students in an
issue as important as the daily mobility to access the university, which is a variable that can
affect the performance of students and the decision to choose one university over another one.
On the other hand, it analyzes the social and economic origin that surrounds the students and
their correlation with the nature of the secondary education and vocational training centers
from which they come.
This study means a great relevance to know the social and economic profile and geographical
distribution of the different groups of students. At the same time, understand the effort
involved in the daily commute to access the Poblenou Campus and learn how municipal
initiatives will affect the transportation needs of students.
