<subfield code="a">The discipline of Genetics plays a crucial role in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of/nmany diseases and disorders. The continuous scientific research, especially in this field, /nmakes scientific subjects a frequent and popular source of translation. In this paper we /nanalyze some specialized translation characteristics which become translation problems /nsuch as language structure, terminology, and lexical elements. We present these problems /nby sections together with the translation strategies, the justifications, and the solutions /nbased on the context, field, and target language style in order to better reflect the necessity /nof linking language skills and scientific knowledge together to produce an accurate and /nunivocal text. However, this work focuses on the translation into Spanish of English /ncomplex noun phrases which constitute one of the most troublesome problems to solve /nwithin the specialized translation, given the difficulty to analyze the order and connection among noun pre-modifiers. The findings of their translation show obvious signs of the difference not only between languages but also in the way they both describe phenomena /nand concepts. After a deep reflection on the topics we present in this work, we have been /nable to provide a professional translation that can be a useful tool to consult and clarify /nlinguistic doubts and to increase the knowledge of genetics and others related disciplines.</subfield>
