Road tra c has been increasing over the last years, due to this fact the probability of accidents has been raised and this also causes more congestion. As a solution to this problem, speci c information is provided to the driver. The given information are road and tra c conditions, as well as detailed information about the neighboring vehicles. So that C2C communications will be necessary to communicate and share data with other vehicles. The development of C2C communications is increasing day by day, therefore several projects are and will be established. In Europe for example, there are a mount of projects working in di erent C2C communications applications. The aim is to reduce the number of tra c accidents with advanced preventive systems. So the objective of this project work is to nd out which is the best performing antenna position at the car for Car-to-Car Communications. To achieve this objective, Ray-Tracing is used to simulate the wave propagation in order to analyze the di erent radio channel parameters. Due to the variety of tra c scenarios, like urban or motorway, several simulations are done in order to compare the di erent behavior of the channel for di erent antenna positions. Six antenna positions at the car are chosen in order to evaluate the di erent performance of some signi cant communication parameters in C2C communications scenarios. In the rst chapter an introduction to C2C communications is done. Afterwards, in Simulation Tools and Optimization parameters, the antenna parameters and the antenna positions at the car are de ned, as well as a description of the di erent tools, in order to obtain the simulations. The next chapter is the Channel Characteristics, where the studied parameters of the simulations are described. In Simulations Results, the obtained results are analyzed in detail. Finally, the Conclusions and the Future Analysis are summed up, where the best performing antenna combinations are commented and the possible future steps are explained.
