Treball de recerca realitzat per una alumna d'ensenyament secundari i guardonat amb un Premi CIRIT per fomentar l'esperit científic del Jovent l'any 2009. L’albedo lunar i els satèl•lits és un treball que relaciona l’enginyeria aeroespacial amb l’astronomia. El seu objectiu principal investigar si l’albedo lunar, els rajos de sol reflectits a la superfície lunar, pot modificar significativament la temperatura de les plaques solars d’un satèl•lit artificial que orbiti la Lluna i, en conseqüència, afectar-ne el rendiment. El segon objectiu del treball és calcular si seria possible fer un mapa d’albedo lunar, a partir de la temperatura d’un satèl•lit en òrbita al voltant de la Lluna, que permetria conèixer amb més precisió la composició de la superfície lunar. Després d’adquirir els fonaments teòrics necessaris per a realitzar el treball, del procés per a trobar la manera de dur a terme els càlculs i d’efectuar els càlculs en si, les conclusions del treball són que l’albedo lunar causa un augment de temperatura en els satèl•lits prou significatiu per afectar-ne el rendiment; i que amb les temperatures enregistrades per un satèl•lit en òrbita al voltant de la Lluna es podria crear un mapa d’albedo. Aquesta recerca ha estat feta per suggeriment i sota la supervisió del CTAE (Centre de Tecnologia Aeroespacial) per analitzar si els resultats són aplicables al satèl•lit que s’enviarà a la Lluna, Lunar Mission BW1.

Research project carried out by a pupil of secondary education and rewarded with a Prize CIRIT to foster the scientific spirit of the Youth in year 2009. L’albedo lunar i els satèl•lits (Lunar albedo and satellites) is a project related to both Aerospace engineering and astronomy. Its main objective is to investigate whether lunar albedo, sun rays reflected on the surface of the Moon, can modify the temperature of the solar arrays of an artificial satellite which orbits the Moon and, as a consequence, affect its efficiency. The second objective of the project is to calculate if making a map of albedo with the temperature of a satellite orbiting the Moon can be possible. This map would allow knowing the composition of the lunar surface with more precision. The process of making the project includes getting the theoretical basics to carry it out, looking for the best way to execute the calculations and the analysis of their results. The conclusions confirm the thesis of the project since the results show that lunar albedo can cause a significant increase in the satellites temperatures affecting their efficiency; and that with the temperature data of an artificial satellite in orbit around the Moon creating a map of albedo would be possible. This research has been done as a suggestion of CTAE (Aerospace Research and Technological Centre) so as to analyse if the results can be used for the satellite Lunar Mission BW1, which will be soon sent to the Moon.
