The main objective of this bachelor's thesis consists in finding a solution to control the location of hardware in cool rooms, thus keeping the inventory updated in real time. This project intends to give a solution to the current problem of inventory control and provide a more effective and reliable answer. For the elaboration of the system and the achievement of the objectives required, an initial study with different solutions was performed. Next, a basic pilot with the technology chosen was assembled and, finally, an application for the control of the equipment was done. The pilot tested for this project is based on the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology. The beacons are small devices that emit using BLE technology, and send a broadcast type package. This solution is based in locating a beacon in each object inventoried and, through a smartphone, information will be sent to a database. This database will order the devices by location and will enable the end user to know where every device is located. Finally, it is concluded that by using battery powered devices, it is needed to reach a compromise between the power radiated and the life cycle of the battery of the device. For more radiation power, less time of battery and less sensitivity to the environment's interferer effects. |
