Notas:	Para este estudio fué examinada morfométricamente una pequeña muestra de veinte astas bovinas. A partir de las diferentes medidas lineales e índices obtenidos se aplicó un análisis de componentes principales (ACP) a fin de obtener las variables que capturaban una mayor variación en la muestra estudiada. Morphometrics of a small sample of twenty ovine horns are examined. Different lineal measures and indexes obtained as a result of the application of this procedure are then simplified by means of principal component analysis (PCA), in order to obtain variables that capture the greater possible variation in the anal yzed sample. PCA indicated that 99.9 % of total morphological variation was explained with the first three principal components. The “robustness index” (index of oro-aboral diameterx dorso-ventral diameter / external horn lenght) and the “curvature index”(percentual quocient between the external and the internal horn lenght) were revealed as the more disciminant variables.
