Adaptive media content architecture regarding users capabilities
Cuenca Gil, David
Miguélez Ortiz, Xavier
Nowadays, it's common that each user has different capabilities and each media content has different requirements. So, in this project will be studied and implement a first approach how to adapt media content stored in repositories to users capabilities. Different kinds of video content will be studied, and how their requirements can be changed with a good subjective quality for the user. Depending on the kind of content, different types of changes could be done in order to decrease the video requirements; for example, in some cases, a change on the resolution will be better in terms of subjective quality than a decrease into the frame rate frequency and vice-versa. As a result, it will be designed a first approach of a system able to: · determine user capabilities in terms of bandwidth, resolution, computer power ¿ · know the kind of content to be streamed · find the best way to adapt the video depending to its content according to each user capabilities · provide a content preview that requires less user capabilities and enables the user a quick look of every content in a simpler terminal before to use the original one
