This report outlines the competition tests carried out by Hilti’s BU Measuring Systems, describes
how these tests were carried out and the results we achieved from them in order to improve and
upgrade our current tool.
The tests serve a twofold purpose: to assess where the PS200 is relative to its competition and to
use this position to push the limits of its successor, the PS300, which is under development. Using
these results, conclusions and thus recommendations will be made, not only as to what features,
performance and usability the PS300 should have, but also as to which tests were successful, are
worthwhile keeping in place and which tests should be added for the next round of competitor
testing.
It was found that most tests are worth keeping and that the Hilti tool should borrow some of the
traits of the other tools to greatly improve. This upgrade within this tool is really necessary at
the moment in order to outperform the measuring devices market and achieve an even bigger market
share in comparison to our competitors.
I also took part in the project to analyze a little bit the market we have nowadays and the
potential market for this new tool.
As you may see this project has, on the one hand some technical background coming from the tests
made by me and an IT engineer and on the other side a product marketing background as I helped the
Product Manager responsible of the Detection Systems portfolio doing the sales
plan for the first years and all the launching material needed. |
