Este trabajo analiza cuáles son las variables sociológicas que explican mejor las diferencias entre la participación offline y online de los jóvenes (entre 18 y 34 años) en España. Nuestro objetivo ha sido analizar las relaciones entre las variables sociodemográficas y socioeconómicas de género, nivel educativo, nivel de ingresos, habilidades digitales y situación laboral con la participación política offline y online de los jóvenes en España y conocer cómo y en qué medida dichas variables generan desigualdades en la participación política entre los jóvenes españoles/as usuarios/as de tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TIC). El análisis se ha llevado a cabo a partir de los datos de la encuesta (3038) del Barómetro del CIS de septiembre de 2014, mediante la aplicación de un análisis cuantitativo univariante, bivariante y multivariante. El estudio presenta dos principales resultados. Primero, los datos parecen indicar que no existen una brecha digital de género en la participación política offline-online de los jóvenes españoles/as usuarios/as de TIC. Segundo, los resultados del análisis, sin embargo, sí parecen indicar que existen desigualdades derivadas del efecto de las variables sociológicas de nivel educativo, habilidades digitales, situación laboral y nivel de ingresos.

This work analyzes which are the sociological variables that best explain the differences between the online and offline participation of young people (between 18 and 34 years) in Spain. Our objective was to analyze the relationships between the sociodemographic and socioeconomic variables by gender, level of education, income, digital skills and employment status with offline and online political participation of youth in Spain as well as to know how and to what extent these variables generate inequalities in political participation among Spanish youth information technology and communication users (ITC). The analysis was conducted based on the survey (3038) data of the CIS Barometer September 2014, by applying a univariate, bivariate and multivariate quantitative analysis. The study presents two main results. First, the data seem to indicate that there is no digital gender gap in the offline-online political participation of Spanish youth ITC users. Second, the results of the analysis however, do seem to indicate that there are inequalities arising from the effect of the sociological variables level of education, digital abilities, employment status and income.
