English: Sensor networks have evolved greatly in recent years. They have emerged a large number of services in a different applications areas: environment sensors, energy efficiency, industrial sensors, automotive, home automation, etc.. An example of a small variety of services can be: temperature monitoring in a forest that allows to alert a possible risk of fire, electrical consumption monitoring of a building and also optimizing its energy consumption, control and management of machines within a factory, direct access to elements of home (lights, air conditioning, lock doors, etc.). IEEE has defined the standard 802.15.4e as an added of the MAC layer that incorporates multiple operating modes which are specific for different scenarios in sensor networks. The aim of this project is to evaluate experimentally the the performane of the operating mode Time Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH), which allows to solve the problem of multipath fading To do this, we will measure the following parameters: a) Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) which is expected to get a positive result due to channel hopping (it will take place in three different scenarios); b) latency, which we will see how this parameter varies with the distance of the nodes and, indirectly, the PDR; c) the throughput where it is verified that the size of the slotframe is who sets the maximum value of it, and finally the synchronization time where it is compared with the theoretical expected value. In some of these experiments we have not obtained similar result according to the theory, even these anomalies have not been possible to be explained. Others nevertheless, have been explained, or the results have been similar to those expected. |
