[ANGLÈS] The NSC essay is one of the activities that the ANDRA – the french agency for nuclear waste management – is carrying out at the underground laboratory of Bure. The aim of this technological center is to provide accurate data about the Callivo-Oxfordian clay behaviour, preparing the site for nuclear waste stock coming from the 58 nuclear plants in France in the years to come. The build of this scientific center goes with parallel action in countries having the same issues and having chosen the same kind of stock disposal for long active nuclear waste such as Belgium and Switzerland. The NSC essay aims to prove that the sealing of a buried gallery is the best way to grant impermeability. To sum up with, the whole sealing accounts for 4 parts. These are the core, the gap, the concrete volumes and the EDZ (early damaged zone). The core is made of a blend of bentonite and sand, the up concrete volume plays the role of a injection chamber, the southern concrete volume is a fixed point and grants stability and closes the GES gallery and the EDZ is the area of the Cox (Callovo Oxfordian clay) next to the core that may be affected by his swelling during the wetting process. The experiment can be divided in many phases which the 4 first ones are construction steps. This paper focus on the 5th and 6th phases which are the wetting steo and the test of performance step respectively. Results are provided using a Code_Bright, an algorithm that uses a finite element platform to solve hydro-mechanical coupled problems with emphasis in the use of constitutive models adapted for unsatured soils with more or less swelling capacity. The parameters used for showing the results of the process are typically porosity, saturation degree, liquid pressure, unit flows, total stresses and displacements. These parameters are each time presented for each of the sealing parts, this to say, the core and gap, the EDZ and the concrete volumes. Questions related to hydraulic sensibility of the NSC essay and the amounts of water to be collected during the 5th step are answered. A description of the essay and its instrumentation and previous concepts that enable the NSC essay understanding are also reviewed. Then, some boundary conditions are changed. Also, the constitutive models ruling the behaviour of some materials are enhanced. The aim of such modifications is to complete the wide range of options for the numerical analysis of the NSC essay and improve the understanding of the whole process. It also meets with the purpose of introducing the reader to wetting paths interpretation and fulfilling the difficult process of finding new parameters for modeling soils based on experimental data.

[CASTELLÀ] El ensayo NSC se circunscribe dentro de la acción que el ente ANDRA lleva a cabo dentro del Laboratorio Subterráneo de Bure para analizar la idoneidad del estrato arcilloso del Callivo-Oxfordiano (era Jurásica) en el que se halla el centro tecnológico para el almacenamiento futuro de los residuos nucleares de larga duración procedentes de los 58 reactores situados dentro de Francia. La construcción del laboratorio va en paralelo con acciones parecidas de países como Suiza o Bélgica que también han escogido los estratos muy sobreconsolidados de arcilla para albergar sus R.A.A. (residuos altamente activos). Éste ensayo en particular tiene como objetivo probar el sellado de una galería y el mayor o menor grado de impermeabilidad que el sistema puede proporcionar. En resumen, el sistema tiene 4 partes: el núcleo, los macizos de hormigón, el gap y el EDZ. El núcleo está formado por una mezcla de bentonita estabilizada con arena, el macizo superior de hormigón juega el rola de cámara de inyección de agua, el inferior es el macizo de apoyo y cierre de la galería GES, el gap es el dren del sistema y tiene una permeabilidad muy superior a la del núcleo y el EDZ es la zona que rodea el núcleo que puede verse afectada por su expansión al hidratarlo de manera controlada. El ensayo se subdivide en varias fases, de las cuales centran la presente tesina la 5, de hidratación artificial y consecuente saturación e hinchamiento del núcleo y la fase 6, que es una fase de test de rendimiento hidráulico del sistema. Se presentan los resultados de la modelización numérica usando el programa Code_Bright para la resolución del problema acoplado H-M y con especial énfasis en la utilización de modelos constitutivos adaptados al comportamiento del núcleo, es decir para suelos parcialmente saturados con mayor e menor grado de expansividad. Las variables resultado son típicamente la porosidad, el grado de saturación, la presión líquida, los caudales unitarios, las tensiones totales radial, circunferencial y longitudinal y los movimientos absolutos, horizontales y verticales. Dichos resultados se presentan sucesivamente para tres áreas de estudio mayores: el núcleo, el EDZ y los macizos de hormigón. Se responden a varias preguntas basándose en los resultados anteriores en cuanto a la sensibilidad hidráulica, la sensibilidad a la alteración de parámetros mecánicos y la cantidad de agua almacenada en particular. También se describe todo el ensayo NSC y la instrumentación que le acompaña y se dan las nociones previas para su entendimiento. Después se propone variaciones a las condiciones de contorno anteriores, en las propiedades de los materiales tanto hidráulicas como mecánicas y en el modelo constitutivo utilizado anteriormente. Dichas modificaciones pretenden abarcar un espectro más amplio de posibilidades en cuánto al ensayo, introducir al lector en la calibración a partir de datos experimentales de los nuevos parámetros necesarios para la computación de un modelo predictivo más completo (el Barcelona Expansive Model o BExMo) y a formarlo en la evaluación de caminos de saturación.
