Since it was introduced in the automotive industry, the protocol CAN (Controller Area Network) has been widely used for its benefits. This has led many companies to offer several hardware and software solutions in order to monitor the communications that gives this protocol. The current master thesis presents the Lear CAN Analyzer as a software tool developed within the company LEAR Corporation. It is designed to be used in the automobile industry as a complement or substitute for other commercial tools currently used. Its main feature is to allow access to the CAN bus using different hardware interfaces in order to monitor and participate in communications between different Electronic Control Units (ECUs), which can be placed within the vehicle’s structures. The Lear CAN Analayzer has been developed for use it on the Windows operating system and has been programmed using the object oriented programming language C #, which belongs to. NET platform from Microsoft. This project describes how the Lear CAN Analyzer has been endowed with several features that enable its use in various projects within the company.

Català: Des de que va ser introduït al sector del automòbil, el protocol CAN (Controller Area network), ha sigut ampliament utilitzat pels beneficis que comporta. Això ha fet que diverses companyies ofereixin un seguit de solucions de hardware i software per tal de poder monitoritzar les comunicacions que aquest protocol dóna. En aquest tesis de màster es presenta el Lear CAN Analyzer com una eina de software desenvolupada dins de la companyia Lear Corporation. Està pensada per ser utilitzada a la indústria automobilística com a complement o substitut d’altres eines comercials que actualment s’utilitzen. La seva principal característica és permetre l’accés a busos de CAN, mitjantçant diferents interficies de hardware comercials, per poder monitoriztar i participar en les comunicacions entre les diferents Unitats de Control Electròniques (ECUs) que es poden trobar dintre de l’estructura dels vehicles. El Lear CAN Analyzer ha estat desenvolupat per ser utilitzat sobre el sistema operatiu Windows i ha sigut programat utilitzat el llenguatge de programació orientat a objectes C#, pertanyent aquest a la plataforma .NET de Microsoft. En aquest projecte es descriu com s’ha dotat al Lear CAN Analyzer de diverses funcionalitats que facin possible la seva utilització en els diferents projectes dins de la companyia.
