Abstract:

Influence of the LPG injection on engine performance and emissions of turbocharged
diesel engine was analyzed. LPG injection increases effective efficiency of the engine at
high loads thereby also increasing emissions of nitrogen oxides. Inverse trend was
observed at low loads. LPG injection increases emissions of unburned hydrocarbons and
carbon monoxide. Reduction of operating costs due to application of LPG is mainly related
to the fuel price, whereas complying with emission standards needs to be re-confirmed
when engine is converted to dual-fuel. |
