Research in Vehicular Ad Hoc NETworks
(VANETs) has evolved considerably over the last years. Recently, security in VANETs has appealed special interest in the research community. In this paper we present the main concepts, issues and threats to VANET’s security and conclude that privacy of
users is fundamental. In consequence a set of requirements for VANET’s privacy are established and studied, towards establishing a trustworthy architecture
model capable of managing them. In articular our work demonstrates that there are still several challenges concerning privacy which solution is feasible to
be extrapolated from highly-demanding environments like eHealth. Also in this paper we describe the basis of a privacy mechanism, compliant with the use of
pseudonyms, that uses a new authorization paradigm based on access levels and user’s consent to overcome privacy and trust issues. |
